About me
I'm Rachel Palmer, a ceramicist based in Pennington, Lymington, Hampshire. I live with my husband Tim and dog Griff. My studio was created as a space for me to share with friends and create sculpture inspired by the local surroundings, be it the garden, the kitchen or the wonderful New Forest and coastline. I share my studio, sometimes called Studio Puggle, with my beloved dog, Griff, who is a cross between a beagle and a pug, he's a puggle!
Inspired by the shapes in nature, particularly in fruit and vegetables, my practice has delevloped by taking elements of produce and emphasising what is normally familiar and ignored. Hence, seeds, stalks, skins and roots of the produce become the highlights.
